By downloading or using Shift Stories ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Shift Stories is a personal journaling and wellness tracking application designed for healthcare workers. The App provides tools for voice journaling, mood tracking, burnout pattern monitoring, career reflection, and interview preparation.
IMPORTANT: Shift Stories is not a medical service, mental health service, or crisis intervention tool. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or therapy. The burnout tracking and wellness features are for personal reflection purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of self-harm, or a medical emergency, please contact: Emergency services (911), Crisis Lifeline (988), or a licensed mental health professional.
Please do not include identifying patient information in your journal entries. Shift Stories is a personal wellness journal for your own experiences and emotions — not a clinical documentation tool.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Shift Stories. By using the App you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to update it if it changes.
All journal entries, voice recordings, and other content you create in the App ("Your Content") belong to you. We claim no ownership over Your Content. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the App to you. This license ends when you delete your account. We will never use Your Content for advertising, training AI models, or any purpose other than operating the App for you.
You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose, share your account with others, attempt to access other users' accounts or data, use the App to harass, harm, or threaten others, attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or reproduce the App, or use the App in any way that could damage or overburden our systems.
Free Tier: Shift Stories offers a free tier with limited features as described in the App.
Pro Subscription: Pro features require a paid subscription at the rates displayed in the App at time of purchase. Prices may change with reasonable notice.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through the Apple App Store. All billing is handled by Apple under their terms.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.
Free Trial: If a free trial is offered, it will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand.
The App, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by Salt Brook Ventures LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without our express written permission.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shift Stories and Salt Brook Ventures LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Privacy & Security.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification and email at least 30 days before changes take effect.
